Great router - I have been using this exact router for over 1 year and it works fantastic. Just make sure you keep the firmware updated. Thanks TDMVP for sharing.

This is a pretty good price on a great wireless-N router. I paid twice this a few years ago. It's been chugging along ever since without a problem. I have also been running Merlins custom firmware since the beginning with great results.

Though this router is an older one (first came out 4.5 years ago) it's still one of the best performing routers I'd ever owned, for wireless throughput and range. I upgraded recently to a newer ASUS (AC68U) to get even better range and throughput.

It might be hard to justify buying 4.5 year old tech, but at $50 new, you can't go wrong, as long as you for sure won't need 802.11ac support.

This is a legendary N router. If you are OK with the wireless N speed(mostly 300Mbps unless you get Asus adaptor for faster speed), then this is a very decent one, especially, at $50AR. It's the best N router at this price range.

US router prices are ridiculous. You can get a top of the line consumer grade wireless AC router that supports 126 active connections for $35 from China in the Xiaomi Mi Wifi 3, or you can buy 2013's tech for $15 more from NewEgg.

Got this earlier in the month for the same price / rebate. Solid router, I've been using mine for a year or so without any issues.

Most people don't have anything that runs past N, at least no one that I know does. If you're bleeding edge, you've already got a fancy router I'm sure. For the basic person, these are a great bargain at $50

I'd hardly call it top of the line with only 10/100 ports and AC1200.

but for the specs, $35 isn't bad, assuming it performs as stated. And for comparison, I just scored a DLink AC1600 router with gigabit on eBay for $29. Doubt it will perform as good as this ASUS though.
