Wanted to purchase this last time but shipping killed it. Now that it's free shipping, I'm in for 2.

I think this goes on sale regularly. About every 5-6 weeks it seems.

Wow, that's one fat monochrome tablet.
What's the resolution on these? 12 dpi?

True that.
I was kind of wondering if perhaps the reason for it to be more robust, was that it had a larger antenna, thus farther range. But it says it gets 30 meters in the air.
I don't know, it just kind of feels like old technology.
Though functionality is paramount in a weather display.
There are some hits and misses out there, for a little more that have nicer displays, and reviews.
Monoprice does sell some great things though.
For $15, it seems like a decent buy.

Good for those that simply wants things cheap as long as it does what it needs to do.

I have been shopping around for one and are debating between these two which have Atomic clock: La Crosse 308-1414B [amazon.com] and La Crosse 308-146 [amazon.com]. $50 and $45 respectively.

I've had this one for 3 years and it works well.

It also comes in 2 colors, black and plastic gray metallic. With the 30% off and free shipping codes found on here (Kohls charge required), it's $24.50 plus tax. I have to change the remote batteries about every 10 months and the main unit batteries once a year. It's easy to set up and I think it's worth the money.

I havent tracked monoprice for that long - but before post I did do a search for a cached google page to see what it was priced at. Looks like it was $19.99 on 4/15/2016.
