As for previewing ads in advance... look at the top right corner of the ad page.

I've had the 4TB HGST in my HTPC since I got it for $88 on Black Friday. This is a very nice price. I would not hesitate if I needed additional storage. They are very reliable. Great bang for the buck.

Mine arrived in a scary looking beat up shipping box, but the retail box was unscathed and the drive has been great. I did a full format to check each sector for errors, after seeing the shipping box, but it was fine thankfully.

What about a larger drive for running Steam games?

I only have a 256gb SSD and can't install all of the ones I want on there and my old 2TB drive for Steam games just died.

Oh, this BS again. How long will they be available to ship once the "deal" goes live? 5 minutes? 1?

TU for the Coolspin drives. Hard to beat the $/GB, especially for the disk size and HGST brand. Be aware though, they're VERY slow compared to that PH3400U-1I72 7200RPM Toshiba's that occasional pop up for $110-$115. In Windows file transfer I average 140MB/s with the Toshibas. With the HGST I average 110MB/s. I've attached ATTO benchmarks for interested parties.

TL;DR: Fast enough for a file/media server or generic storage, but wouldn't recommend as a primary OS drive. Excellent bang/buck.

From a few places (search for 0S03359), 3 years.

I grew tired of Fry's shenanigans years ago. Bait and switch tease con artists.

Gotta say I agree with you. Just not worth it anymore -- there are good alternatives with reputable online sales. I used to work in Silicon Valley when the first Fry's opened on Lawrence Expressway -- it was a novelty at the time when the Fry's name was only known for a local chain of grocery stores.

Now I live in the NorthWest and my Fry's is about a 45-minute drive away. So that's a lot of time and also a lot of gas (back when gas was super-expensive a few years ago.) And you'd get there and if they had the item at all it would have the "returned' sticker on it meaning who knows what someone did to it before they threw it in a box and brought it back.

Basically now it's just a big dark depressing store from the past that no longer makes sense.

When looking at Frys ads, I always think it so funny that you can walk into an electronics retailer and get a sandwich and soda. It also seems funny to be able to purchase 3 cookies with a promo code. I wish we had a Frys in my neck of the woods.
