This is a pretty sweet deal on a GTX 960. I just jumped on it using a 15% off code and no refund savings.

Original price: $155.25
Price after 15% code & no refund: $129.05!!!

This is the price of your average gtx 950!

super tempting. Only thing holding me back is that I'm completely unfamiliar with Zotac

Yeah same here but they have been around a while and this model has solid reviews. I bought it so hope it's good.

Is this a valid thought process for holding off buying a graphic card?

"Even though I only play CS:GO and not many graphic intensive games at all, Pascal release will mean I can get the GTX 960 at an even lower price than they are now."

Not really, because most retailers won't be going lower than $130 even after pascal is released.

long time computer enthusiast, I have no problems buying zotac. They are pretty well known in the overclocking community.

I have noticed some screen flickers with Windows 10 with my 4k monitor at full resolution on my desktop with my Gefore GTX 660. Do you think maybe the 660 is a little too weak for 4k on 2D apps or just a Windows 10 bug? Looks like the 960 would be able to handle 4k fine.

Zotac is an excellent brand, great build quality. I heavily researched the Zotac GTX 970 , and the consensus across online gamer forums and professional reviews was that it is well built, solid card, and tended to be slightly cheaper because it is lesser known. only complaint among some about 970 was mild coil wine at load.but that wouldn't be an issue for me personally because I have volume cranked when gaming. based on my knowledge of their 970, I can say the identical looking 960 is also a solid purchase. the real question is, do you want to buy a graphics card this close to the release of Pascal?

I'd imagine you're probably pushing your luck with GTX660 @4k. It should be able to handle it, but it's fairly old, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was an issue, esp with windows 10 which is more GPU heavy than previous windows versions.

Glad to see there isn't any Jet.com hate yet. I have seen alot of criticism of Jet but I bought most of the parts for my new pc from Jet and have had no issues. Got GREAT deals from them! Purchased
GPU, PSU, DVD Drive, RAM, SSD, HDD from jet in 3 separate purchases.

One note, the coupon codes must be tied to your address and card because I couldn't use the code twice even when using a separate address. Also couldn't use a different card at same address. They have multiple codes though different codes have different max discounts so buy wisely.

So the 960 would be able to handle it a lot better?

You need 4GB VRAM version to run 4K well.
