Home Depot [homedepot.com] has the 22ft Werner MT-22 Aluminum Telescoping Multi-position Ladder on sale for $169.00. This is not the MT1-22 250lb load capacity ladder that's been on sale for $99. It's the 300lb, Type 1A rated ladder.

I had looked at this ladder recently and was considering it at $199, but decided to jump on it when I happened to be walking by and saw it at $169. It's not the lowest it has ever been, but it seems like a good value after playing with it for a bit. I compared the MT1-22 and this MT-22 side by side in the store and there seems to be a bit of extra strength and thickness to this model that the lower duty rated ladder lacks. I figured a little piece of mind when extended was worth the price difference.

As a side note, I've noticed complaints about the weight of these multi-position ladders and I have to say that this really isn't bad. It's certainly not a lightweight, but I was almost scared away from buying one of these when I was looking around. My wife was able to carry this out to the car all by herself, so I'm assuming she'll also have no problem using it to clean the gutters by herself as well. Haha. worship

Was $199 - $30 off = $169.00

Yes, it a good ladder and much much better than the MT1-22 Black Friday special...

Good point about Lowes! I always forget about their coupon since it's a bit out of the way for me to go there.

The weight issue is when fully extended. Try pitching it up to a 2 story gutter and moving it around like that.

The next day you'll feel like you got ran over by a truck.

Your next ladder will be a lighter weight extension with pulley if you have the space to store it.

I got the MT1-22 from the $99 deal to replace a MT-17 that I was using before and the 250 lb weight limit is more than enough for my tasks. The MT-22 comes in at 47 lbs while the MT1-22 comes in at 38 lbs (the MT-17 comes in at 39 lbs). So for my requirements, the MT1-22 was all I needed, a taller ladder than what I already had but also slightly lighter. So get the ladder according to your tasks. I wanted a taller ladder that was lighter since these are not exactly light ladder but they are compact and easy to move around in the house.

I also have the 22' MT-1 250 pound version and it is a great ladder unless you weigh over 250 pounds, and carrying it around is easy at 38 pounds.

This is the good ladder. It's super sturdy, and even sturdier with the stabilizer bar.

I weigh a little over 300 and I don't feel unsafe extending it and climbing up to my second story. It doesn't move on stairs. It is heavy though and trying to get it set up on tight stairs isn't super easy and the one side did hit me in the head because it didn't catch locking it into place.

The spring Black Friday special is a piece of cheap junk compared to this one though.

According to Lowe's price match policy they should beat the price by 10%. So I might try and pick it up there.

That ladder was not cheap junk, it simply was not rated for your weight. It is very suitable for people within its weight range, costs a lot less, and is a lot easier to set up and move around because it weighs 10 pounds less.

Lowe's price match policy isn't supposed to extend to advertised specials, only everyday pricing, but give it a shot.
