How many football movies could you possibly watch a day?!? I mean, I'm as much of an Any Given Sunday fan as the next guy, but still... Wink

I think this is the best price for a new one. Went to fp the last time at the same price (+ $5 shipping) from the same seller.

From my research I always concluded that the Optoma HD141X is the best and brightest $600 range 3d projector.... how are people's experiences with this one?

I just bought when they had refurbished on sale for little more than $500. it came with almost new lamp (26 hours). great picture quality.

only thing concerns me is that it gets really hot within 10 minutes of use. is this normal or should I be worried? did I get a lemon?

Contrast doesn't look at all the great. 10,000 : 1 EEK!
Just for the heck of it compare to the Epson 5030 which is 600,000 :1. I know price is a lot more but just pointed it out.

Street price $805.

Personally I like the Panasonic's, PT-AE8000.
Movies never looked so good.

I'm building a 3 story townhouse (well I'm not, but the builders are) and the bottom floor will have an in-laws suite in addition to a prewired media room. Will this projector do the job nicely or should I spend a little more for my home theater man cave room?

Heat is very normal. Make sure you have proper ventilation.

I bought this projector maybe a year ago. I've been using it on a white wall. I always feel the picture is way too bright and makes my eyes feel hurt/tire super faster. Anyone else here has similar "issue"?

Have you tried changing the settings?

Projectors in general are hot air blowers. So probably not, a lemon. I have owned multiple and it was a nice way to keep a room warm in the winter, just like my gaming PC but better.

Contrast ratios are pretty bogus in general so I would not worry about it to much. There is no standard to compare against when comparing contrast ratios between equipment.

Decent read about it.

It will do great in my own opinion I dont own this model but am looking to purchase it myself in the near future. Everything I read about it which is a lot points to it being one of the best sub 1k projectors out there. Right along side its older brother.
