Great deal on all machines. I had purchased the Lattisma Plus for $280 from Macy's earlier this month. Will return it and pick up the Pro from Amazon.

Prices are pretty good generally for this time of year. I suspect you will see some cheaper prices around the holidays, but that is a long way off. Good price OP.

Also wanted to comment that Jet has the Lattissima Plus models on sale (similar prices to Amazon) but I had a 15% off coupon that I got in the mail that I used to bring price down to $218 (free shipping and no tax, too).

You need to buy the pods with these correct? How do these compare vs ones where you manually grind the beans (novice here - sorry!)

i dont' have one of these, but do have a $400ish automatic espresso machine... it makes coffee comprable to Sbux or even the smaller cafes... cheaper in the long run... uses standard off the shelf beans...

Super happy w/ my Lattissama+ machine --19 bars of pressure (about 280 pounds per square inch) on all Nespresso machines means independent labs confirmed that it squeezes out 900+ more essential oils & 900+ flavors than regular, non-pressurized coffee machines --standard professional strength expresso is about 13 bars (about 200 lbs pressure)

You can buy REFILLABLE capsules off Amazon or Ebay for about $10 if you prefer to grind/use your own beans (note that fit slightly varies)

Coffee beans go stale after about 20 minutes after being ground & exposed to air due to oxidation.. just like an apple turns brown after you cut it & expose it to air
BUT
Nespresso grinds all their beans in an OXYGEN-FREE chamber (all oxygen replaced by inert nitrogen)
&
then seals it air tight you're guaranteed a fresh cup every time as if it's freshly ground.. no oxygen, no oxidation

Capusles are about 70 cents (most varities) to 80 cents (exotic rare varieties) a capsule

There are also 40 cent generic capsules from 3rd party manufacturers on Amazon/Ebay
--some say they are good, decent, others say bad
--guess it varies by taste
--I don't know if the generic capsules are oxygen-free, ground in an oxygen-free chamber so I haven't tried them yet

The $1,000-$5,000+ espresso/cappucino machines that grind your own beans right before making your drink makes better/just as professional quality cofeee, expresso, cappucinos but
if
you want quick convenience that makes great professonal quality expresso, cofee, cappucinons in 20 seconds, Nespresso is great if you don't want to spend $1,000-$5,000+ for a machine

Also, if you live in Europe, their about $0.45/capsule. I bought 100 capsules for about $45.
