Bought this last time at this price, works great. Loud or soft, with many different sounds. We had our receiver about 100 ft away from the door...

have this (paid $20 at the time) only 2 tones actually sound like doorbells, the rest are silly ice cream truck jingles. volume was low, so if you want this for a 2 story house get another receiver for the upstairs. if you get a second button i can confirm each button can be assigned a different tone so you can distinguish between someone at your front or side door. oddly enough syncing the button with the receiver is polarity sensitive and the plug is not polarity bladed, so if you can't sync right, just flip the plug over and try again. a23 batteries can be found cheap, so don't let being dependent on them intimidate you as they last for 2 years. range is ridiculous - i tested it at 400' from across the street while the receiver was at the far end of the house so you could even use these as a panic button you can carry around.

This was 11.99 a couple months ago. I'll pass on this and wait for a two receiver deal.

1000 foot range. Wow. going to wire one up in my community mailbox, so that it will transmit when the mail door opens.

Clever, interested in how you plan on wiring that?

I have a some battery powered motion lights & I'm hoping I can use the motion sensor in them.
Perhaps with just a couple resistors and possibly a capacitor, I could manage to remove the led lights & either power the button transmitter, or somehow create a closed circuit to transmit, using the circuitry on the led light as a conductor when it becomes a closed circuit.
I am unaware of any mailbox transmitters on the market that will work even at 300 feet.

I like the fact I can have one central bell w/flashing light plugged into the wall outlet, and still have another bell w/flashing light that is powered by battery and can be portable. It goes to the bedroom or the back yard, very nice to have.

I have something similar to this and I use it to summon the kids. I put the noise part in the bedroom and I keep the button part downstairs. Now when I want them or its wake up time I just use the button. Saves walking upstairs, saves my voice, and it's so annoying that it can't be ignored. I love it!
