I bought this for a desktop build I did. Reasonably quiet. This is a good price.

I regularly see comparable wattage from thermaltake and better still EVGA for 15-20 after rebate. Free shipping varies so this deal is comparable, but hardly irreplaceable. I appreciate the post, it might be helpful for others to know this deal can be had multiple times nearly any month of the year.

The EVGA and Thermaltake models that regularly go for less than $25 aren't modular though.

Tempted... Trying to rebuild a low cost nas.. On an older system... This would work but if it was free.. Then that would have been even better

CX450M is semi-modular, will this matter to some?
Sure, as a lot of builders now consider reworking the sleeving to match their build colors but to a majority it's not a deal breaker.

I bought this a few weeks ago, when it was going for the same price (after rebate, of course). Using it in a cheap build for my family and it hasn't given me any trouble so far - it's not noticeably loud, either, which was my main concern other than the fact that cheaper PSUs can be a roll of the dice. As someone else already pointed out, it's actually semi-modular and not fully modular, but the difference is lost on me.

Edit: my mistake, I just took a closer look and realized that I bought the CX430M and not the 450. Wonder if there's much of a difference between the two (seems strange that they'd produce PSUs with 20W's difference).

The CX430M is going "Discontinued" so it looks like this is the closest replacement.

The modular makes this a good price. However if you don't care for that, the 600W for $29.99 no rebate from BB free ship was a better buy for more wattage imo.

In my experience this has never really mattered in everyday use, or even gaming use if you've sufficiently picked a PSU over 20-30% of your max estimated usage.

Wait, this is Bronze, right? I'm seeing this on the Newegg link.
