a brand new K65 with cherry MX red switches (non rgb) costs $60.

And this one is $70 for a refurb. Is RGB that valuable/pricey?

If you're the type that loves keyboards with ever changing color options then it is that valuable. If not, it is not. I personally have bought an RGB keyboard myself from Corsair, worth the extra $30 for me as I can change it up from time to time to feel like I have a new setup going. My PC also changes colors at will so to me it's important. Meanwhile I know others who can't stand LED at all.

I always wonder what refurbishing a keyboard looks like. Are you using used switches with new caps and frame? Or is it a way for corsair to clear out inventory of new stock?

They very well could be keyboards returned for any other reason. Doubt they're going through the trouble of replacing/repairing parts except the board or LEDs, if it's an actual defect. http://www.corsair.com/en/landing...bished-faq

Hopefully the K70 I had RMA'd 3 years ago is in good hands at this time, haha.

I already have a TKL with Gateron Reds (Varmilo VA87MR), but this price is so tempting.
