Thank you for sharing! I have had one of my favorite board games - Epic Spell Wars of The Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullzfyre - saved in my cart for months, and finally saw a price drop. I came to Slickdeals and found this thread about a sale on multiple titles.

If anyone can recommend some board games to me, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's okay if it isn't in this particular sale; I can keep an eye on it.

Criteria of sorts:

Can accommodate at least 5 adult players (the more, the better!)
Easy to pick up and understand (good for casual players)
Less than an hour to play
Competitive, and not cooperative
Because I'm crazy about lists, I actually have a list of my favorite to least favorite board games:

First Tier

King of Tokyo
Ticket to Ride
Epic Spell Wars of The Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullzfyre
Guillotine
Lords of Waterdeep: A Dungeons & Dragons Board Game

Second Tier

Acquire
Saboteur
The Resistance: Avalon
The Resistance
Dominion
Codenames
Ingenious
For Sale
Pit

Third Tier

Shadow Hunters
Coup
Munchkin
Star Fluxx
Catan: Cities & Knights
Wits & Wagers
Set
Ricochet Robots

Fourth Tier

Zombicide
Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game
Bang!
Settlers of Catan
A Game of Thrones: The Board Game
Cards Against Humanity

Some people will want my blood for not liking Settlers of Catan and Bang, I know.

If you can settle for 3/4 I can recommend a couple of games that I don't see on your list . Unfortunately most of my recommendations are good for 3-5 players. I'm not a big fan of Catan either, but the map gets too congested with more than 4 players and it's not fun with turns where you earn nothing and buy nothing.

Power Grid is from the same people as Ticket to Ride I think, but it's a similar feel with maybe slightly deeper gameplay. This is competitive like ticket to ride, and also like ticket to ride, you aren't locking people out of cities if you claim it first.

Pandemic is pretty quick and cooperative, but if some members are outspoken they might try to call the shots and you just follow their plan. BUT this does prepare you for Pandemic Legacy which is supposed to be amazing. I haven't played it yet because of conflicting schedules; it's supposed to be a multi session long term play that's much more fun if you play through with the same people.

TIME Stories and its expansions have been a great cooperative role playing experience, but it has little to no replay value with the same group and a playthrough can take up to 3 hours if you talk out all of your decisions and there's puzzles to solve. But the storytelling is top notch, and there's no gotcha type of gameover scenarios. It's like a choose your own adventure story.

DC Deckbuilding game is a cooperative comic themed deck building game with plenty of expansions if you enjoy it. I got into it with people who didn't read comics and it still went really well, as long as you try to do it right and build a deck that synergizes well.

Coup is a fun competitive game that works better with the more people that play. It's good for casual play too, because it's short and setup is dealing role cards with the role's abilities being described on the card. Kinda like resistance where you try to figure out other people's roles.

Besides Coup, none of these are on the amazon list sadly, but I have heard some good things about Splendor, and it is on plenty of top games lists for 2015.

We really enjoy New York 1901! It is only up to four players though. I bought it in December and it has honestly been the only game we keep playing this year and that's been a lot of times! Plus it's in the sale today. We had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to play at first but after the first game it has been so much fun!

Top of my head: 7 Wonders, Agricola, Sushi Go, Splendor, Kingdom Builder. Not positive about number of players for each of them though.

Got a CCC alert on Evolution and picked that up. Wish Galaxy Trucker would have been in this.
