Anyone know if there are any major differences between these 1st generation bulbs and the 2nd generation?

1st gen:
600 lumens, slightly cone-shaped bulb (despite also being A19).
1st gen bridge is not compatible with Apple HomeKit.

2nd gen:
800 lumens, standard A19 pear-shaped bulb.
2nd gen bridge is compatible with Apple HomeKit.

However, 1st gen bulbs are fully compatible with 2nd gen bridges, so they'll work with HomeKit as well if you have a 2nd gen bridge.

yes, more lumens. I believe it goes from 600 to 800. most people say they don't notice much of a difference between the first and second generations of these bulbs.
edit: post above beat me to it. also Apple homekit

The major difference is the hub. 2nd Gen hub supports Siri (a.k.a Apple homekit). It will allow you to turn the lights on and off or change the color of the lights via voice control.

The brightness of the lights is slightly different too. The 1 gen is 600 lumens and the 2nd gen is 800 lumens.

Good catch; shipping is $10 and tax was added for me, but it still comes out less.

It appears to be the same thing. I never seen the price is this low. If I didn't change ALL my lights in my home to Hue lights, I am gonna pull the trigger so fast.

Great deal.

Is there an alternative to their bulbs? 60 each additional bulb seems steep when you can buy 3 for 99

Could of swore I seen these at Home Depot for $79 in a clearance bin. Wonder if they're the same thing? Not even sure what these so.
