This should be posted every time this printer gets posted. Answers a lot of questions. Copied and pasted:

"According to a previous thread on December 10 of last year (2014): "According to the manufacturer website in different country, the toner is very easy to refill, there is a plug in toner refill, just remove the plug for toner refill" -- TryToBeSlick

"I did some research on the brand and found out that this cartridge has a hole that you can add powder by yourself , so I guess no need for shopping a new cartridge." -- zbb0674

"The cartridge can be refilled for three times, total yields 5000 pages. After that the chip on it needs to be replaced which apparently not worth the money." -- zbb0674

A quick search on eBay for "Toner Refill Pantum P2502W" yields a bunch of listings: from $8 for 100g to $32.99 for 1kg refills (free shipping). Per one eBay listing, the starter cartridge comes loaded with 26g and recommended refill is 50-60g.

So no need to throw out the baby with the bathwater (i.e. junk the printer just to get a new toner cartridge).

**********************************************************
Found the following details on one of the EBay Listing.

Refilling Information : (only screw driver required)

* Starter cartridge which comes with the printer has only "26 Gram" inside
* Remove 2 screws on the right side (Chipped side).
* Gently pry off the end cap. (Be careful, Don't let drum axle come out)
* Now you can see the plug for refill.

Add toner of about 50 ~ 60 grams. DO NOT Overfill.

In EBay (Search for "Pantum P2502W Toner Refill")
100 gram ~ $8
200 gram ~$12

I print about 100 pages a year. Tired of needing to buy inkjets because they dry up. If the hardware does not fail, the toner should last me 7 years. lol

I got this from newegg for $25 - solid printer but initial configuration was a pain and apparently there are no cheap refills for this toner. Still a decent deal - may not be too slick though

Not slick because of .99 cents or because pos printer.

You might be better off with a Brother printer due to plenty of generic toner. This one needs a $50 toner that prints only 1600 pages. No one is cloning Patum toner chips yet.

Just buy two or three printers at $26 each. Much cheaper supply of toner and gives you a backup if something goes bad on the printer. I bought two of these several months ago and just started on the second toner with zero problems so far.

At $26 it's in the realm of just use it and toss it when the toner runs out.

Anyone know if the printer just nags if you refil without the new toner chip, or does it refuse to print after some number of pages.

Most of the toner chips are just a serial eeprom that is relatively trivial to clone. Might buy one just for the hacking challenge.

there are far superior deals in the $50 to $80 range with refill possibilities..

Printer comes with a starter toner with 500 page capacity. So may not work either. Someone posted in previous forum that they filled the starter toner but it stopped printing after 900 pages, even though it had plenty of toner, so the chip limited further printing.

I look at this as being a cheap, disposable printer. If you do very little printing, want something cheap but usable, and don't mind the possibility that you won't be able to figure out the WiFi set up resulting in you having to use the printer cable, then this isn't a bad option, but then again, why would you want a disposable printer?

I bought one last year. In hindsight, I should have bought a Brother instead, but made the mistake of buying based on price and wishful thinking that cheap replacement toner would be an option downstream. The Pantum was actually pretty good while it lasted, although for the life of me I couldn't get the WiFi connectivity to work. It actually does a decent job with printing (text quality and PPM are pretty good). However, my starter toner cartridge is running low (and I don't feel like I've printed 700 pages yet) and it just doesn't seem sensible for me to buy a new $40-$50 toner cartridge. So I decided to replace my Pantum for a Brother laser printer instead. I got the HL-L2360DW from BestBuy just ast week for $100. I figure over time the Brother will serve me better, being a higher quality printer overall and having more affordable toner refill options.
