These phones will not work on RingPlus without being active on Boost/Virgin for a minimum of 12 months.

Starting 4/17, in order to activate a Sprint/Boost/Virgin prepaid phone with RingPlus, the phone must have been active with its original carrier for 12 months.
https://social.ringplus.net/discu...-phones/p1

Any FreedomPop phones cannot be used unless active on FP network for a minimum of 6 months

NOT UNLOCKED (for DOMESTIC GSM (AT&T/T-mobile)! Please don't bother to ask "will it work on <anything but Sprint/Boost/Virgin>" or "will it work in <country X>..
The Huawei Union is unlockable (Sprint/Boost? phones can be INTERNATIONALLY unlocked) to use on any GSM providers in the world and compatible 3G/4G area, .Please do not ask how!!.

No reason to be a hall monitor...if you're going to take the time to respond, just answer.

They put a stop to activating such phones on the 17th of this month. There was a huge push to grab and activate devices before then.

I've seen many reports on reddit that the ZTE Speed is a horrible device. Anectdotal, but worth sharing.

I've tested out and used (for farming) budget models from both ZTE and Huawei over the years, and believe it's essentially a draw on which is better (or worse, depending on how one looks at it). Given the marginal differences, I would get whichever you find more aesthetically pleasing. Honestly, I'd buy neither, and would pony up $30 for the Nokia Lumia 640. It actually has a FANTASTIC audio DAC and a much higher resolution display, making it the far better media player choice. It an also be unlocked for free from AT&T making it worth nearly double what it currently cost, and usable on many GSM networks, so much more flexible also...so a wiser investment across the board, in my opinion.

Hope the info helps Smilie

Probably make nice MP3 players for those Slickdealers that don't already have a million phones from previous deals.

I will do a price match on two phones that I bought if I can find the receipt.

Oh well, I got the same phone with virgin mobile, not boost mobile. Frown

Sadly no Boost, Virgin Mobile or Sprint prepaid phone will work on R+ unless it was previously activated on R+.

Out of these 2, which one to choose for mp3 player and more android apps support?

I did a quick comparison and seems like ZTE Speed has a better Processor (Snapdragon 410 8916 vs Snapdragon 210 8909), slightly Better Screen and Front Facing Camera etc.

about a week ago Sprint cracked down on Prepaid phones. This deal was a bit late for that. I have the Zte speed on a R+ tether when it was $19.

$10 is a good price for wifi only media player if you can live with the poor screen and build. Feels cheap because it is, may not hold up well but price is right.
