*you will pay for return shipping.

So many people have had the OLED display go bad on the vivosmart band that if you have the display going bad (starts with losing the top or bottom parts of the display) that they will upgrade the band to the vivosmart HR as long as you pay return shipping for your band.

Just call 1 (800) 800-1020 and speak to the garmin rep if you have the display problem which is extremely common. I was told un-officially they have extended the warranty on the display to two years from one as its a known widespread problem. Also another option was a refund. Great customer support on their part. Please don't abuse if you don't have an issue.

Thanks...fresh out of the box, the one I bought my wife for her upcoming birthday is already fading at the top and bottom. I'm going to give them a call.

Just contacted Garmin, they are replacing the with new Vivosmart HR and said I don't need to return the current band, I can recycle or do whatever I want with it. Basically useless at this point but nice that they didn't require me to mail it in saving me a couple of $$.

I called the number in the original post and they gave me three options. The first was to get a certified refurbished replacement, the second was a $149.99 refund and the third was a $149.99 credit toward a new deice of my choice. I looked at the Vivosmart HR since that's the model that was mentioned and really liked it. The price was...wait for it...$149.99 so I replaced mine and my wife's with the HR. They told me both of our old ones would be deactivated when we activate the new ones so we can just toss them. Thanks for the heads up!

How would the old ones be deactivated?
