I just got the S2716DG to replace one of my Dell 4K screens (P2715Q). Gaming with G-Sync at >60hz is nice, but it also looks much more washed out over the IPS (even after calibration). It's also not as bright. I'm on the fence whether to return it and keep two P2715Qs, or use this in tandem with one of the 4K monitors.

I too have this monitor - did you use software to calibrate? If not, what settings are you using?

thx

Does anyone know if newegg price match is for pre-rebate or post-rebate price? If it is pre-rebate, then amazon has the same Dell monitor for $489.99 right now.

the 34" ultrawide is tempting, but at that price I think I'd rather wait for a 29" curved model. 34" would be great, but you really need a 1440p resolution at that size to keep things from looking grainy

I don't have a hardware calibrator like a Datacolor Spyder or anything, so I used the settings from the top Amazon reviewer [amazon.com] since others said it made theirs look great. I did have to up the brightness, as it was way too dark. I know it's not very scientific, but regardless of settings this TN panel looks washed out compared to the IPS.

It's still not horrible though, which is why I'm still on the fence. If I didn't spend $1500 on monitors in the past few months, I'd get the new $800 Asus PG279Q [amazon.com] - IPS, 165Hz, and G-Sync.

Not bad for a brand new model. If you wait a bit, Dell Factory Outlet will have refurbished models for $300+tax after entering a coupon code.
