should i get this model or the 16gb ram with 256GB SSD? (not bringing price into the equation)...

More RAM will be infinitely more useful. More space practically irrelevant, as 256gb is enough for everything unless you're a hardcore gamer - and when/if you hit max cap, the extra stuff is stuff that doesn't benefit really from being on an SSD (songs, movies, pictures) so you can just buy a slim usb external drive for $40-50/TB and throw those things on there.


Whether or not the increased price is worth it as I don't know which offering you're referring to is unknown, but you said price was irrelevant so.

Eh, I disagree with this. For what people do on a laptop, there's probably very times where more than 8 GB of RAM will be utilized. If someone has a lot of files, the extra SSD space probably will be utilized. On my gaming desktop with a lot open, I very rarely utilize more than 8 GB of RAM.

Sure, things probably will change in the future, but most likely longer than the usefulness of the laptop anyway.

You can always upgrade the SSD on these, but not the ram.
