iPhone SE 64GB - Verizon

The wife needs a new iPhone and would prefer to have the smaller SE model with 64GB.

She needs it to be on Verizon. She currently has an iPhone 5 but it's having lots of problems which is why we're looking to upgrade. I see deals out there for like $50 but then you have to pay $20/mo for the device for 24 months which when you add it all up is $530 for a phone that supposedly only costs $499 at retail.

Any way to get it cheaper? Is it worth trying to trade in her iPhone 5 and get a credit and then just buying one outright at an Apple store? I saw Walmart had a $100 off promo code awhile back but that's expired.

Usually work just assigns us a phone so I can't remember the last time I actually had to do this!

TIA

You won't get much for an iPhone 5 on a trade, just sell it yourself outright. Usually I put old phones on the company wide distro list and someone is always interested.

$30 for 2 years financing isn't much. If you can't find it for less than retail, I'd go with that.

Does she need 64GB? I got the 128GB model of my phone and what a total waste I don't need more than 8GBs.

Ya, was contemplating trying to sell it but it admittedly has problems. Much rather sell it to a store or some place that won't be calling me up saying it constantly freezes or the battery goes from 40% to 0 in like 2 minutes.

She does need the 64GB as she takes a ton of pictures/videos with it. 16GB is what she has now and is always running out of space. 32Gb would probably work but well we all know that Apple are a bunch of aholes and don't ship that model!

Target has a deal going on now. I am still figuring out details, but it sure sounds like Verizon or AT&T iPhone SE/6/6S will get $200 Target Gift Card. The site this morning says "pickup by Saturday". Sorry I don't have more details at this time. One person claims he paid the full device retail upfront and is able to take it to another carrier without penalties.

I also think the $100 off at WalMart is still going on, it was supposed to be good through end of June.

Thanks. Where are you seeing it? I don't see it in their ad or on-line anywhere.

You'll notice all of the iPhone 6 models have $250 and 6 plus have $300 cards. The SE doesn't seem to have anything, until you pick one of them, select the store you want to pick up at, pick new plan or existing, and then you see a red banner across the top showing $200 if picked up by Saturday.

They won't let me just buy it through this link. I have t-mobile. I wonder if the gift card is subsidized by AT&T and Verizon only?

Correct, it only shows up if you choose AT&T or Verizon. That said, there is at least one person who said they chose the Verizon version, chose Payment Device Plan, paid the phone off, and then immediately cancelled their Verizon plan when they got home. YMMV - for that person, they weren't charged for the <1 day of Verizon plan. You might get stuck with a month of plan. Its a bit of a gamble for TMobile.
