After all of the high amount of Seagate 2TB & 3TB drives failing, I would be cautious buying one of these.

There's fairly conflicting reports on this one....
From Toshiba's website (1.4 of 5 stars)

Amazon (4.6 out of 5):

Well, yeah, a lot of us would never buy a Seagate drive again (can you say, "Click-o-Death?"). I'm not a big fan of WD, either, so Toshiba is the only manufacturer left. Always had good luck with their drives, only ever lost one and that was replaced under warranty quickly and painlessly.

Haha. I think I had too many tabs open and was replying to the wrong one. You're right, this is Toshiba and not Seagate. yummy

Correct, I made an error on the reply. But as for proof on my claim, anyone should be able to Google "seagate 3tb failure" and see the 1000's of articles, blogs, and the lawsuit regarding the drives. Not that hard, I promise.

Last time I ordered from Monoprice with a $20 off $100 code, they charged my card, sat on the order for weeks, and then canceled my order. It had been years since I ordered from them, and it will probably be years before I order again.

Maybe if you need a bunch of cheap cables, they would be good, but I don't need any right now. I remember buying their expensive Monoprice HDMI active switch which didn't last very long before it stopped working. They remind me of Meritline who has become an irrelevant and overpriced seller of cheap Chinese junk, but I know they sell some higher quality products (like this drive). $80 for 3 TB for an external USB 3.0 HD is not an uncommon price, so if I were to buy 1 of these someday, I'd wait for a similar deal somewhere else. Those are my opinions.
