Ugh, anyone else having trouble trying to get the promo code to apply to the TP-Link router because it conflicts with the newegg student price?

Ended up foregoing the premier benefits and paying with paypal after logging out of my regular account instead.. what a hassle.

Easily done, open in incognito mode, add a new email, checkout as guest. One question, can I use this router in place of the century link router which I am using as rental?

After reading up a bit, these portable routers are popular so you can hook up various devices and not get charged extra at a hotel. Got it.

Is there another major reason for having one of these? Or is that the number one reason for these?

Just curious as I've never thought of getting one (but might in case I go on vacation one day).

I have a similar Tenda router and its range and speed is amazing...I have been using it for long time...and I think this tp-link router is exact same thing..

See the image..that's the speed test result for a 50Mbps/9Mbps internet connection. I have been using it for almost 4 years..recently I bought airport extreme and was not satisfied with performance so returned it...

This does not fit that purpose. Many times Wi-Fi isn't free but what is free is a hardline Ethernet cable connection for one device. You can turn that single wire connection into a hotspot and connect other Wi-Fi devices to that do not have an Ethernet port
