Great machine if you're interested in JRPGs, indies, or fan-service laugh out loud

Personally I'm waiting for someone to finally crack it like the PSP...Sony locked this down pretty good but a man can dream.

I may sell mine. I only see these dropping in value and price and I rarely play it unfortunately. I think it's crippled as a remote play device due to missing shoulder buttons as well.

Wow they do seem to be dropping in value. I notice the colored ones from Japan are $185ish and they were mostly over $200 last I looked. If the Lime Green & White one drops I may have to pick it up.

Yeah, Sony has all but dropped support for it but its a great little system. Remote Play is such an undersold feature; I will play PS4 titles from it often. The button layout does limit what you can play somewhat - I wouldn't recommend trying to face some of Bloodborne's harder bosses on the thing - but the controller is pretty easy to adjust to.

The library of games is pretty extensive. If you like RPGs, or classic PSP/PSX titles, it's really a no brainer.

The biggest con is the high price of the proprietary memory cards, but gamestop occasionally runs sales on them.

How is the remote play with PS4 away from home? It work pretty well?

I can jump in- it's been great in my experience. I don't have my console wired, but I played my FL console in AL over my tethered phone and it performed very well. No lag, no framerate issues, everything was good.

Could be worth it just for that to play on vacations and stuff.

Simply put: it works for me. How well it works for others is pretty dependent on their home network speeds as well as the connection speed away from home.

I've never tried it somewhere like starbucks with public wi-fi; I would imagine that would be a pretty sub-par experience. I play often from work, and its definitely serviceable.

Again, wouldn't recommend any fact, action-intensive titles to play over a public connection, but I regularly play Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, and even the occasional bit of the Division over a connection away from home.

The Joetsu L2R2 grip is a godsend for remote play. It adds physical L2R2 shoulder buttons like in a Dualshock. It was $25 (with free Prime shipping) at its lowest just a few days ago.

I use it for Destiny and Borderlands (both heavy L2R2 users) remote play. Excellent accessory.
