This is one of those sets that people complain about w/ the price per piece, but will have to say its one of my 5 yrs old's favorite sets. "Playability" makes this one worth the cost, and even better at this price.

I agree with you. Whenever the "10 cent complainers" come out, we have to point out special things about a set. In the case of the Spaceport, it has several very large custom-formed components for the shuttle body, doors, and fuel tank. You'll see similar price premiums on the large ships with custom hulls. Over time, these sets often appreciate the most, compared to "standard brick" sets. And, the original comment is important too -- hey, these sets are often "more fun," have greater "Playability," and tend to look nice for display as well. To me all these factors make it easy to disregard the "10 cent rule" for many of the nicer sets.

We really liked this set. Building it wasn't too difficult for my then 7 year old.
Like all the others... it's in a big box with dozens of other sets all mixed up and ready for their own ideas.

This is such an amazing set and the price is great too. Wish I could justify buying more LEGO.

PSSH, I don't buy for more than 7 cents/brick but even still I usually go for 5 cents. Specialty sets like this obviously don't apply but then I'd only go for it if I was going to build it. laugh out loud

People have been reporting finding this on clearance at Walmart for $35 for quite awhile now. At that price I'd buy it. Otherwise, this doesn't interest me with the easy build but I can see why kids would be into it.

I agree with MonstBlitz. I found about 6 at my local Walmart for $30. I thought that was a steal!

This is a strange set, on paper it is uninspired, and a little lacking. But if you look at the actual parts list it comes with enough uniques and has enough detail to make it work.

I'll say this, I expect you'll see cheaper than $83 eventually, but if you need it soonish then it is a competitive price. Otherwise I'd just set a CCC price watch and see if it goes lower.

The average price is $88. So $5 saving compared to normal. The $119 price is just MSRP.

I'm probably no near anyone but its Saint Albans Vermont Walmart. Hope this is helpful! Just saw them last week. Unfortunately walmarts clearance pricing is not marked well so I had to scan it to find out. They had other sets too
