Thread Details

This goes along with all the other walmart clearance posts, really there should be a community thread that people can list them in..(is there?) Found this at my local walmart with 199 clearance tag, asked the guy to scan it along with everything in the shelf (there was ALOT of clearance). Rings up $69. Checked brickseek [brickseek.com](item number 23739702) and it shows in stock for alot of stores and that price too...Pretty decent deal if you are in the market for a chromebook. Please note the walmart website specs say refurbished...it looked brand new in box to me but i did not get a real good look at the box as i already had 3 laptops in my hands and figured why would i need a chromebook lol

the item # i gave is the right item number, but for some reason i swear i saw it listed the condition as refurbished on walmart site, but nowhere is it in the copy and pasted so maybe i was looking at a different chromebook when searching for the item number, either way should be brand new lol...def 23739702 is right number since it shows the right price in brickseek

Brickseek says all locations except 1 sold out in my area. May take a drive to see if Brickseek is lying again....

Bad time for my Walmart to be closing (they are opening a Supercenter a few miles away). All their computer clearance was done a while ago and none were nearly as good as all these being posted.

Pretty sure I know which one this is as I came across this exact type at the local Walmart as I noticed it tucked-away underneath where a few others were that were also marked down.

I asked em about it and they told me that those were "As-Is" Display units that were not guaranteed to work or even power on and most of them were missing the charging cables as well.

Pretty risky buy Imo as the displays are generally beat to hell by the people that go through there.

Is this processor better than an atom z3740?

Bought this used like new from amazon for $195 otd back in May 2013. Still runs like it did when I bought it. Battery life is good too at around ~6 hours. Awesome device for living room computing. My wife and I use it for booking hotels, flights, filling out forms online etc. wherever a smartphone or tablet would prove too cumbersome to complete. Would purchase again for the same price and for $69 I think it's worth it based off how long it has proven itself useful, convenient and reliable.

the one at my store was still sealed shut. The one whole lockup at the store I was at was clearance, only afew had visible tags, rest were flipped with the tags hidden and tags were all old prices, some really old (like the toshiba had 399 clearance price sticker as lowest sticker)

This is a 2012-era Chromebook with an ARM processor. This is not a hot deal.
