The info says 25 jewel 2824-2 movement ... so then this is ETA movement, right? With the code plus the AMEX offer this seems super slick to me; am I missing anything?

Correct! It is ETA movement as the Swatch group owns Hamilton. I own one very similar and paid a little bit more. Very slick deal if you add the Amex deal.

If you can take advantage of the Amex offer then you are about the lowest price I have seen for this watch and close to the best for an ETA 2824.

Great, thanks! I'm really on the fence right now over watches. Tired of my cheap, beat old Swatch, but don't have the coin saved up yet for a Tudor. This deal + CB + AMEX puts out of pocket at like $250, which makes it feel way too good of a deal to pass up while I save for something fancy.

If you are going to use this for your daily driver, you should keep in mind that it has only a 50m WR, which means it is okay for splashes and rain, but it cannot be submerged, even for light swimming.

I'm obsessive compulsive enough that I probably wouldn't swim even with a submariner, but ... if it's rated for 50 meters you still can't even do light swimming with it? Is this usually the case? Is there some factor that people who know watches know about, like anything rated for less than x = not actually waterproof, etc? I don't think it would be a problem for me (see above), but at the same time I'd like to know what's what.

If you're on the fence about this watch, you should go for it.

Had this watch in the rotation for about a year and was very pleased with it. N of 1, but it was the most accurate automatic I've ever owned. -2 secs/week

It's a good size and well finished for the price point.

The best part is that after a year, I sold mine used on eBay for more than this price, so you really can't lose. Get it, wear it, and sell it when you get bored with it for at least what you've got in it.

Y'all should note that this is NOT the popular version that went one sale a few times and made it to the FP here (42mm one shown below). This version is smaller; and the "date" identifier is at 5pm as opposed to 3pm location on the other version.

Wow, nice. It was this one (the 38mm), or was it the larger 41mm model that's slightly different?
