Says the hardware for these kits are for IKEA chest and dressers, but should work for non-Ikea furniture as well. Tall furniture should always be secured.
  • More Info Here [ikea.com].
  • Fill out this form and request one Here [ikea-usa.com].
    • The kit contains replacement tip-over restraints, complete wall-anchoring hardware for common wall types, instructions, and warning labels to be affixed to the furniture.

I ordered these previously and never got them. If you live near an Ikea, go ask for them at customer service. They'll give you them on the spot and you won't have to wait.

For those who want to do it right, anchor the item to a stud with a tape that plumbers use to anchor water heaters (see attached pic below). They are really cheap and have many uses through out the house. The Ikea ones are free but most of time not long enough to anchor to a stud.

I'm not sure if you have kids, but if you do, cosleeping with your child I've heard is a marvelous bonding experience. So easy to watch them 100% of the time.

My child sleeps in his own room, with his own IKEA dressers. We got them when he was just under 2. Not sure what kind of logic you think an 18 month old has, but again, your children are advanced I'm sure. We secured his dressers so we have one less thing to worry about.

Just curious, how do they make sure that you actually bought a chest or dresser from Ikea?

They likely just rely on the honesty of people to not order them if they have not bought an Ikea product. Sad that so many people seem to have no integrity and order these when they have not purchased an Ikea product.

They don't care. If they did they would automatically add these to any orders with items they figure them necessary for. Baby saving is good PR.
