Hey guys I have an old Intel 875k on the old Intel LGA 1156 socket.

Can I get the low voltage Mushkin 1.35v RAM? Will it still run at 1600mhz even at 1.35v on my motherboard? Thanks.

Most decent motherboards let you manually set RAM voltage and I don't see why it wouldn't allow it to be set lower. If you want to play it safe you could always use XMP

So I have a laptop I'm trying to upgrade the RAM. Says it takes 8GB max dual channel (2x4GB) at 1066. My question is if I buy RAM that is faster than 1066 would it still be usable and just run at the lower speed? I just ask because faster is cheaper and buying specific 1066 memory is more expensive due to low demand.

Check the motherboard specs for manual timing adjustment. In the event that it doesn't, and doesn't natively accept 1.35v,then no.

Your pc will automatically downclock to the highest acceptable speed. So no worries! Might wanna check the QVL list of the manufacturer though..

That sucks. DDR3 was staying too high for too long and now it's been dropping to what it should have been for past year IMO. Luckily for me I've been mostly using my laptop. Might be time to upgrade the old desktop.
