What a stupid and completely ignorant response. I recommed you read up on the history of Oxycontin and the insanely predatory tactics Purdue used [theweek.com] to drive profits by addicting as many people as possible on the medication. Quite simply this medication alone is responsible for destroying entire communities, Appalachia was targeted by Purdue and hit especially hard.

It is the governments responsibility to protect its' citizens. Purdue bought out doctors, paid to rewrite pain guidelines, purposefully made the drug highly addictive and then fought back when regulators required them to make it less so, and on and on. Add to these factors that patients inherently trust their doctors and you prescription of self responsibility is about as worthless as a tic-tac for lung cancer. Personal responsibility is clearly not solving this problem as it is an epidemic that is growing year after year.
Definitely worth the watch. I saw this on Netflix and it will make you hate big pharm more than you already should. Don't worry though, there's a pill to help curb that anger and some other pills to counter the side effects from that pill Big Grin

Free on Netflix and it sucked. Maybe I'm an asshole, but I didn't care to know about his family.

Started strong, then devolved into problems that his brother had with painkillers. Maybe it picked up after that, we don't know since we turned it off.

Everybody should run a Netflix search on these dollar Amazon movies, about 1 out of 4 seem to be on Netflix.

How many government nanny's and regulations do you guys need? Can we stop trying to regulate and start trying to take responsibility? Give 2 people prescriptions for 100 oxycontins and one of them does just fine while the other gets addicted. Self control not more laws.
