I still really like my 2014 unlocked Moto X. The hardware is top notch and I was able to upgrade to Android M. The battery lasts all day. The external speaker is great! Love my bamboo back! The curved shape makes it REALLY nice to hold. I wish it had a better camera (it's good, just not great), and I wish there was a fingerprint reader.

While true it is worth noting this is for the unlocked version that gets Marshmallow and it is also 32GB storage.

Would not recommend to buy this phone. Personal experience ...
Bit the superslick deal of $99.99 for this phone (AT&T Ver but hassle free unlock process) from best buy. Bought 2 phones. One died within a week of arrival - died literally - abrupt shutdown one fine day and never powered on again. Contacted Motorola support who verified the purchase, agreed for replacement. That was Feb 2016 and i am still waiting for my replacement phone.
Terrible customer support (possibly because of lenovo acquisition). I have exchanged 100+ emails, more than 50 calls and all they say is that it has been escalated and i will get my phone next week. And then next week, another new date.

Anyways, sharing my experience not to crib but to warn potential buyers. Beware !!

Quite possible that these are old inventory from 2014 and there is a very high probability of the concealed battery already being dead within the shell.

I was thinking about getting this phone as a direct replacement for my original Moto X (2013) but ultimately decided to spend the same amount of money for Nexus 5X (yes, only 16GB but that ok for my use).

I bought mine from the $100 BestBuy deal in Feb, and have been very happy with it. I did the OTA upgrade to 5.1. There was an issue of two applications draining its battery, which was fixed within the apps' setting. It's a beautiful sleek-looking phone, and I like it so much that I am reluctant to put it into a case. It's a little slippery though, so I do plan to put it into a case when bringing it to long trips.

You can try applying a skin if you just need some grip.

I have the unlocked/t-mobile edition of this phone, and I really like it, especially the Moto software android add-ons. However, I haven't had to deal with Motorola support, which I heard some bad things about
