yes, crown is screwed down but it's not for diving but the rest should be good
you'd wanna get bracelet or rubber or nylon strap though

When did Omega Moons get a screw down crown? I have a '71 that I am keeping to hand down to my boy one day and it and several others I have owned in the past never had a screw down.

Screw down crowns and manual winding are giant pain plus you risk messing up threads by unscrewing all the time.

These are NOT meant to get wet. They were pilot watches and they're almost never meant to get really wet. Will they survive rain or a quick dunk by accident or washing hands? Sure. Swimming or shower? No!

Bracelets are not cheap for OEM. You can get look-a-like Omega bracelets that are decent quality though. The straps are also not cheap. The OEM fabric NATO strap runs close to $250 from an auth dealer!

All that being said, good deal for a gray market Moon. No warranty through Omega but it can be serviced by quite a few places or you can send to Joma.

you have a good point. i went by what it said on the site., my guess if they are right, the change happened with this 50th edition.

i would also never buy omega bracelet, which is probably $500+ or their nato.

you can get high quality nato for $20-25 and custom strap for $50-100.

$250 for a NATO strap? Wtf?

I just bought my Nato strap (Spectre style) for $165 at a Omega Boutique.

I believe its about $300 if you want a leather band tho.

I wish there were filters that would eliminate all watch "deals". I don't want deals on expensive jewelry!

i am not sure what is so special about the 50th edition versus a normal edition to warrant the higher cost?

I think normal speedmaster prices have been lower so just a matter of justifying this 50th edition

i wouldn't pay it but it came with mine and i love it. It has little accents (Omega lettering andn logo on the metal parts) otherwise i'll probably look to buy a generic bracelet
