Not bad. I just got in on the killer deal earlier this week or else I might bite.

Edit: Note that the specs have this listed as a 10/100 port so using this to share internet will work fine but sharing files or streaming HD video this would be less then ideal.

they're up to 2GBPS now so these 500 MBPS units should be on sale. one thing I would recommend getting the variety with a power outlet in the front that way your electronics are filtered and don't slow down your PowerLine network as much.

Spec shows "One (1) 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port each". so actual speed will be bottlenecked at 100Mbps

If you are looking at this for solely internet access for one device somewhere then yes it'll work fine.

A lot of people use these for streaming video games and video from another computer inside their home so it's not the best for that due to the 100Mbps limit.

Sign up for student account from the homepage, use a student email address. Pretty straightforward.

I have this, picked up few Mbps by plugging computer into powerstrip w/RFI filter. Make sure plug netgear adapter directly in wall. 👍🏼
