Its 160 plus 5 dollars shipping or free shipping if you join their club. Either way its 165.
I picked up one of these the last time it went on sale. It came in the original Toshiba box, looked like brand new to me. This is NOT the one that came out with the backlit keyboard, but it does have the 1080P screen.
It's this one.

This is a very well built, compact laptop with a great screen and keyboard. If you like to surf the web, watch videos, check facebook, etc. on something that won't catch a virus or slow down in time, this is hard to beat.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

The other Chromebook CPUs that people keep referencing are the Intel Celeron 3205u and 3215u. The larger (for better or for worse) 15" 1080p IPS 16GB SSD 4GB RAM CB5-571-C4G4 has the 3205u and has popped up refurbed for $160 several times LINK. The best deal at the moment for that one is $175 at Groupon LINK [groupon.com]. Also the black 32gb SSD (vs 16gb SSD) one from Acer via eBay is $200 LINK [ebay.com].

Either is a big CPU upgrade from the Celeron N2840 or any Bay Trail or Braswell CPU. You are jumping from Intel's low power architecture (dating back to Atom CPUs in tablets and netbooks) to Intel's mainstream CPU architecutre, in this case Broadwell generation, giving you essentially the same cores as those in their flagship CPUs (albeit lower clocks, caches, features etc.)

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
Let me give you a very critical tip for all Chromebooks. I own this chromebook, too.

Install 'h264ify'. Without it, you can't run a single 1080p Video since the slow Atom CPU itself should decode the very complex H.264. However if you install h264ify, the internal GPU inside CPU will handle H.264 video decoding. Called, HW-accelerated decoding.
With h264ify, I can run three 1080p youtube video at the same time.

This is the one with the slower N2840 Celeron processor. If it were the one with the 3215, I would get 2 😂

Right. I can only have 20 tabs open at a time. Some people may need 30. Smilie

Yeah, the 100 or so extra to get the newer version new is worth it. That N2840 is painful.

One tab, 1080P video, resize window. Fail.

I have had this one since January 2015 or so. Still runs great. I'm a 10-12 tabber...no issues. I run Linux inside of Chrome as well...runs fine for me.

Dont be so flippant. The faster processor makes a huge difference.

Nice machine and a good deal if you want it. But the keyboard and build quality suck. I'm holding out for a Dell CB 13.

I have this Chromebook and it actually is pretty snappy. I keep maybe 10 tabs open at the most. It's not a power users machine but for family to browse the internet it works great. The processor is fine. Remember it's just chrome. The screen is great.

That would be a bummer if it was actually true. I just did this on the chromebook and it is no problem whatsoever. Keep making stuff up though if it makes you feel better.

People need to SAY they can open 50 tabs at once to win the pissing contest I guess(even though you can really only work with a couple MAX). This processor is just fine. Does everything I need it to do. If I wanted a machine that runs Call of Duty at 200 FPS obviously this chromebook wouldnt be it.
