All Freedompop phones must be used on FP service for a minimum of 6 months now before they can be used on another service (like Ringplus)

Just a warning, the quality of the device you receive is always a lottery draw when dealing with FP. It is being sold by woot, but the orders are always fulfilled by FP (the items always ship from their Indianapolis distribution center).

For those asking if this phone is unlocked, please review the following with the understanding that this is a Sprint CDMA network phone with GSM bands added for LTE. It can be unlocked, but you will only be able to use it for 3G, as the Sprint LTE bands aren't the same as AT&T / Cricket /MVNO or T-mobile / MetroPCS / MVNO

here's easy one click root.
from my understanding, after rooted
you can use/switch between GSM & CDMA services
I haven't tried it myself but many of people in other threads have stated it works flawlessly.
it says G3 but it works with others too

1. Root it

2. Download the unlock tool

3. One click: att/tmobile
4. Another click: back to sprint

Remember to check for the echo problem if you do buy it.

Got one of these from Woot a couple months ago, great condition. Also came unactivated, so I was able to activate on RingPlus without getting it released by FreedomPop first -- don't know if that is still the case.

How did you verify that your G2 was unactivated with FredomPop?

It's a little bit cheaper in the long run to buy directly from FP since there's $15 TCB which pays out pretty quick.

Before anyone complains about the GPS + screen on the phone have issues, otherwise it's a great phone. Had it for over a year and it has no issues. Paid $100 last year for my refurb.

CA Tax, shipping, and especially a bogus $3 "Regulatory Fees" (CA E-waste Fee) kill the deal:

Is there any way this would work on AT&T?

I activated it on RingPlus immediately.

From Woot they will come not active on FP, that is a given -- but it is possible the ESN will still be tied to FreedomPop. FP is enforcing a 6 month wait for release now, so maybe I got in before that, or maybe I got lucky...
