Looking for cheap Chinese tablet

Novakingwai 2,146 263 April 29, 2016 at 06:54 AM More AliExpress.com Deals
I'm looking for a decent cheap tablet. I see this one on Aliexpress http://www.aliexpress.com/item/9-...e71e3062c5

i see the processor is MTK8752 Octa Core and when I google that I can't find any information about it. I'm looking for something to entertain myself while on a stationary exercise bike. Would mostly watch videos. Maybe play a few casual games (hearthstone would be the most demanding game I play.)

Thanks in advance.

I would be interested in what you get. I want to replace my 2013 Nexus 7 but I use it basically for the same thing. It works fine but can be a pain to dump files on same time.

A random chinese tablet might suffice, but you're wading into largely untested and and unknown waters. Could well be worth the ~$80-$120 gamble though.

For my money I wouldn't take that bet.

I would recommend the Amazon Fire HD 8, used Google Nexus 7 2013, or Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7" - those should all be around $150 or cheaper with a slickdeal.

I ride a stationary bike for my main source of cardio, however, and I would say that having a larger screen and louder speakers would be beneficial.

After ordering a deal immediately delete your deal alert. You got your item; you don't want it shipped with a side of remorse.

Speakers aren't a concern for me, I have a bluetooth headphones. I used an iPad Air 2 at one point, but when I moved I no longer had access to exercise stuff so I sold it while it still had high value. I now have access to a small gym so I'm looking again, just the thing I did 99% of the time on my iPad was catch up on Star Trek.

I was able to get this thing [tablet.ninja] through Amazon on Prime Day (warehouse [amazon.com]) for like $40. I use it for DD#2 "TV" in the car. Works fine for that purpose.

You can get decently used/open box stuff there.

After looking at reviews it seems there's some liars out there. I've read that some companies are faking their devices specifications, and when a user does a test using an app or resets the device it will show less RAM or processor speed.

Yep - that's why I was hesitant to recommend the untested waters of random Chinese tablet suppliers. You're much better off going the used route, clearance/discount from Dell Outlet, etc.

I do see some decent brands in my search. Teclast, Chuwi, and a couple others are getting OK review. For $170 new you can get a Teclast X98 Air III with 1.44GHZ, up to 1.8 GHz, 2 ram, 32 storage, with dual boot ANdroid 5.0 and WIndwos 10 and 1920x1080 screen. Or for about $250 you can get a newer model with 4 ram, 64 storage, and 2.2ghz process, also Dual boot and retina screen.. And it's got decent reviews.

i got the teclast x98 pro. Took about 3 weeks shipping. So far I like it. Both Windows and Android feel snappy. The screen is vibrant. The speakers are weak at full volume but that's not an issue for me I plan on using Bluetooth. For $230 with a retina display, 4gb ram, 10" screen, and Android and Windows operating system I think it's worth it.
