This seems to be the new price for brand new 4k movies. Is this movie any good and is the 4k version worthy of the additional cost? I ask as I am now on my 5th and 6th 4k blu rays and not all of them seemed like every scene was shot with 4k+ cameras.

A lot of the original UHD offerings were mastered from 2K DIs, so while they've been upscaled to UHD, they aren't necessarily all that much better than the Blu-ray versions. HDR helps some. Bill Hunt at The Digital Bits has seen a Deadpool demo at 4K with HDR and likes [thedigitalbits.com] it. I've sort of been waiting to see the early reviews of UHD discs before dropping the extra coin on the "upgraded" visuals.

To play UHDs, you need a new UHD player. You can play them on your existing HD display but they will be down-rezzed to that resolution.

The 4K version also comes with a standard blu ray. In case you ever think you might upgrade, probably worth the $5 now.

Film has a MUCH higher resolution than 4K.

But don't forget that resolution isn't everything. Depending on how far away and how large your screen is, your eyes may not even be able to resolve the extra resolution.
