Homedepot has this Brushless combo kit for $199.00 included the DCD790 and the DCF886. Combo kit model number is DCK281C2. I haven't seen this number before. I'm use to seeing the DCK281D2. Anyone know the difference? Website says it comes with 2 Ah batteries but box says 1.5Ah.

Edit: Opened the box and it comes with 1.5AH batteries. Doesn't even come with a Double sided bit! All in all, I thought it was a good deal. been looking at this drill for a while. Don't need the hammer function so, this should work for what I need it.

Awesome deal. I have this set and it's amazing. The last deal with 4ah for a bit more was better with Hammerdrill but this is also good nevertheless. It comes with 2ah batteries and I can confirm.

DCD790 & DCF886 have been replaced by new models, and C2 is the designation for the old 1.5ah batteries with no battery level gauge. Dewalt must be trying to offload old inventory in a special package to HD.

Yeah, the description on the item page has both specs listed. It says:

DEWALT supplies 2 lithium-ion batteries (2Ah)
and later it says:
(2) 20-Volt XR lithium-ion batteries (1.5Ah)

So, no wonder this is confusing. This seems like a good deal. And, agreed, the smaller batteries are actually more practical for typical use of these tools. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if a 4Ah battery were included, but for most uses of these tools you don't need that extra capacity and don't want the extra 2 lbs or so of weight.

Very tempted to order one. [Edit: based on info of C2 vs D2 kit - probably will wait. Also we are about 6 weeks from "Father's Day" and aside from the obvious BF and Christmas deals, Father's Day is often a good time for promo power tool sales at HD and other places.]

The more I think about it this deal is lukewarm at best considering the real kit DCK281D2 with 2ah batteries sold for $199 last month on Amazon and the HD Black Friday kit with hammer drill DCK286D2 plus light and large toughbox was $229.

Thanks, good info if that is correct about the C2 vs D2 kit.

Here is an article I found comparing the 281D2, the 286D2, and the 296M2.

Not the same deal, pug. That one in the link isn't brushless.

I ordered and went to the store to pick it up. Reps said had 11 on hand but couldn't find one. They offered to sell me another one. I asked them to sell me the DCK296M2 for 250 + Tax. (I decided I needed a hammer drill)

I found them in the Pro desk check out area (Lumber area check out). I even got offered free damaged drywall. Here's a picture of the display. They had plenty in stock.
