UPDATE: Many people report the kit available for $135. There is also currently going a promo where you can buy this kit and get a free 4.0A Battery - see the pictures. Thanks to RamblinMan taking pictures of the promo!

Found 4 cases with Milwaukee M12 Fuel 2597-22 combo on the floor in the clearance rack in Bowie, MD. Cases marked at $216 but ring as $189 on the register. They would not give an extra battery that comes with the current deal on the regular M12, but you might have a better luck Smilie Still pretty good deal considering these rarely go on sale.

$179 @ Tyler Tool one week, CPO the next.
Thanks for heads up. Where did you learn it is going to be on sale at CPO? Did they send out a flyer?

Great price on some great tools. Don't listen to Slackhack, if this set had ever been or was known to be coming up at $179, somebody here would have posted it with a verifiable link.

I did a search on SD and found one or two links to $179 on this specific set posted in the past at HD and CPO. I also found somebody claiming it will go on sale at CPO at the end of April (it did not). I guess it is not that hot of a deal as I thought. But I had an HD gift card to burn, so whatever Smilie

Killer kit! Easily worth $300 and pummels most, if not all brushed 18v offering from blue, yellow and teal.
pummels?? in what regard these have 2/3 the torque they are great tools just not suited for full sized jobs.

I think that was an irony Smilie His point is you can get 18v brushless from most manufacturers for about the same money when on sale, and there have been a lot of sales recently. This is true if you are looking for a 18v set or a single set. I do have both 18v set and 12v set an usually go for a 12v since they take less space in a cluttered work space thanks to the smaller battery pack (tool body is usually the same size between 12v/18v of the same manufacturer) and less awkward to handle.

There are not that many brushless offering in 12v, and Milwaukee seems to have the most well-built / powerful 12v tools in general, brushless or not. They are slightly larger and heavier than Bosch 12v, but do not seem to suffer from a number of QC issues Bosch do (wobbly chuck, chuck that falls out etc). But admittedly $99 12v sets like Makita a few days ago or a usual Milwakee 12v around black Friday make more sense. Heck, I was doing just fine with $30 Craftsman Nextec set that still works fine after 5 years of regular use. At one point, the Nextec drill burned out but then somehow repaired itself. Nextec right-angle driver has an awesome ergonomics and is my favorite tool period, much better than any 18v or 12v driver I tried so far. But it is not powerful enough to drive lug screws and slow on 3" screws.

Okay I'll play...

What full size job demands more than 1200 in/lbs? or 25,500 BPM?
The big one usually deck/fencing these struggle, the impact chugs along but those bolts even bring a 18v to its knees. The hammer one is mostly a heavy drill/driver(internal hammer must be tiny compared to even its 18v version) which take a long time to get through medium stones.

Guess I need to take it with a grain of salt instead of jumping this guys bones I do think its a great tool and everything... better than every 12v just because its brushless. For some reason I get annoyed with people making wild claims of the red suits turning water into wine.

Update:
No go at 3 south Chicago stores all reg price I would consider the set probably the best of the best for 12v kits because the regular drill driver just isnt nessesary outside impact if you buy impact rated drill bits. I know most people are not going to be making holes in their bricked houses but for mounting a few sticks of conduit in the basement this is enough.

If anybody subscribed to this thread and was on the fence - HD runs a new promotion where you get a free 4.0A battery with a purchase of this kit (normally $80 battery). I grabbed one of the remaining kits it was still $189 - will be returning the one I got earlier without the free battery.
