I bought this when it was posted last time. It was really in good condition. I removed the two 4GB RAMs and replaced with two 8GB RAMs. I also added another msata for Ubuntu dual boot. This machine flies with 16GB RAM.

I am not sure about the downvotes... It went to front when this was posted last two times.

Not sure if is a good price. I got a x230 with an i7, IPS display, 8GB or ram, and a 9 cell battery for $230 so this seems too much for the things you get.

My question... Why wouldn't it fly with 8gb? Seriously why waste the money on 16gb?

Got it from amazon on their marketplace from a 3rd party seller. I was looking an ebay as well. Seems like you can find them cheaper than this listing. Of course, without warranty.

It really depends. 8GB is good enough for most of the work. 16GB helps a lot with my lightroom flow.

good deal when these are in stock. battery is usually junk though. I got one of the cheap ebay replacement batteries, it's not great, but battery life is still better than the one mine came with from Refurb.io

Specs look good, price looks good and a 1 year warranty. Probably runs a hair hot because of the good ole Sandy Bridge but hey, you can't complain. Resolution is meh, but I'm sure most people use 720p still without an issue.

Love this laptop. I bought one used last summer and it performs well for me. Solid and well built, with a decent form factor for a work laptop.

Mine came with the ultrabase with the DVD drive and the extra USB ports. No hdmi, but I have a $2 adapter for the display port. The i5-2520M 3.2ghz Sandy-Bridge processor is full power, and every bit as capable as the later, lower volted Ivy-Bridge i7-3667U .

I love the keyboard, it's the last year for the classic scissor-type, full sized keys which have traditionally dressed Thinkpads. (I'm not a fan of the chiclet keys on new laptops). It's easily user serviceable, and I appreciate the 10 hour battery life. Only thing I don't care for is the small jinky touchpad, but I use the ultranav button or a separate, larger aftermarket lenovo bluetooth touchpad.

I recommend the laptop, but this one seems a bit pricey for a 2012 model, although the ips screen, the 256 GB SSD, and the one year warranty make it tempting.

Bought one brand new in 2012, and still runs great. I have an msata drive in it with windows 10 and the drive it came with running XP.

I did have a scare right before the warranty ran out, but it was just faulty memory that I had replaced. Other than that, no issues whatsoever.

I just returned it, got it from last deal, totally horrible condition: its like coming right out of gabbage bin or goodwell, cracks underneath, heavy scratches everywhere, just what you would expect a laptop from 5 years ago and from 5 years' hands. Even laptop from cowboon new york warehouse is waay better than this.

I got a used 14" Dell Latitude with the same cpu last year from eBay for a bit over $100 and popped in a 240gb ssd for $60 as well as 16gb ram for $60. Very similar to this deal but the batteries and accessories are extremely easy to find for that Dell since it was one of the most popular business laptops out there. I guess once the lease ended for those laptops and businesses began sending them back, the market was flooded with them which decreased the demand which in turn decreased the prices. It's been running like a champ so far and is about the same weight as this one. It looks quite a bit better as well IMHO.
