If you want the Harbor Freight 1.5 TON cheapie they're down to $57.99 this week so good time to pick one up. Free shipping with $75 purchase. They have the 2 ton unit for $129, but I found a better deal at Advance Auto Parts.

1.5 Ton Compact Aluminum Racing Floor Jack with Rapid PumpĀ® [harborfreight.com]

Advance Auto Parts has their 2.5 Ton floor jack on sale for $109.99. Similar in construction to the 2 ton HF unit. The AAP website lists it at ~31lbs., but it's closer to 50lbs. like the HF jack. It fits under my lowered coupe with no issues so this is my new track jack. Here's the way to get this jack for $89.

AutoCraft 2.5T Alum/Steel Jack 941PV/941PV: Advance Auto Parts [advanceautoparts.com]

1) Make sure you join Advance Auto Parts Speedperks. You get $5 coupon for every $30 spent and $20 for every $100.
2) AAP will send you a coupon for $20 off your next $40 purchase. You can double dip with their other coupon codes.

$109.99
-$20.00 Speedperks coupon
$89.99NET

I believe once in a while HF will have their 2.5 ton jack on sale w/coupon for $79.99. Just have to wait and catch it.

It's actually on sale right now down from $199 to $159. I've never seen their 2.5 Ton aluminum jack for $79. I've seen their steel model, but never the aluminum one. I think you're thinking of this one:

I can't seems to apply any coupons. It is showing " Please Note: This item is not eligible for further promotional discounts, coupons or special offers. This product is on sale and is not eligible for any further promotional discounts, coupons or special offers. "

Never ever ever buy anything hydraulic from HF, unless it's a one time deal. The seals always break/leak after 1-2 years. Always.

Besides, isn't you life worth an extra $20 for the highly superior Arcan 3 ton you can get at Costco? If the seals ever leak, or if you just get tired of the color, you can return it to Costco for a full refund at any time.

No argument there. The 5,000lb. 2.5 ton unit will handle my needs. No more getting under a car with a 1.5 ton unit. Looks like Arcan has a limited 1 year warranty. Is it Costco that does lifetime "any time" refund? Just curious. Costco's is $99.99 + $5 shipping as my store doesn't stock it. If it's lifetime warranty then it's definitely worth it for $25 bucks.

If you get underneath a car when it's only supported by a hydraulic jack, then you are doing it wrong. I wouldn't trust an hydraulic device without a physical lockout. That's what jack stands are for.

The 2.5T - my bad, I should have mentioned this earlier - none of the coupon would work. The price is 109.99 in my shopping cart.

Someone tried to tell me about their dangerous story with a jack. "It fell off of the jack stands or what?".... Awkward silence. No jack stands. Unbelievable.

5+ years with my HF aluminum jack and no issues. Almost 8 years with my HF electric impact. You need to have realistic expectations when purchasing from HF, but its nowhere near as bad as you describe.

I wouldn't and I didn't. I bought the 2.5 Ton unit from AAP. If you check the weight on the jack you posted it's 96lbs. Not very portable for track duty. Great garage unit, but not lugging that beast to the track with me. The 2.5 ton unit is ~55lb.s and will do dual duty for $79 net. So why by a heavy steel jack that you can't take to the track for $20 more?

Why are you posting crap that is barely on sale and have no intention to buy? Trying to get your post count up?
So all of a sudden it has to be portable to take to the track? Are we supposed to read your mind?
