I was cruising through my local HD today and noticed the RIDGID 5 tool combo kit at $399.00. It is the non-brushless kit, but still great tools.
Looking at the R9652 (5 tool kit) tag, I saw that it is the "new lower price" tag, so will be available at all locations. Once I got home, I looked online and confirmed that the kit is at this price no only at this one location, but nationwide and online too.

This kit has been at $499 since it came out last year, and this is the first time they have dropped the price without the need to purchase anything else additional. I am not sure how long the price will be dropped down for, so if you have been looking for this kit, I would jump on it while the price is where it is.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I'll bite @ $200, nothing more. After all...they are brushed, flawed and bulky.
they are brushless drills. I own this set and the quality is a lot better compared to other brands.

I have this set. Bought when it first released at this price. I think they are great tools. Plenty of power and well designed.

Also they have the spring promo where you buy this kit and get a radio, sander and flex light free. The online price for that is $499, but if this kit is selling for $399 in store and the promo is still alive, then you could get 8 pieces for $399.

They do make brushless gen5x drill and impact drivers. These are not brushless. I don't hold that against them. They are still very good tools.
This kit includes R8611503 hammer drill, R86035 impact driver, R8652 circular saw

The brushless gen5x are the R86116 hammer drill, R86037 impact driver, and R8653 Circular Saw found in this combo

I am not an avid poster, so forgive noob mistakes.

I don't think this is a duplicate post. I saw the 5 piece kit was already posted on SD for $399, but there wasn't mention of the additional 3 tools for free. Not trying to snipe rep's, just want people to be aware of the additional benefits!

I've been looking for a new power tool combo kit and I pulled the trigger yesterday.

HD's Rigid GEN5x 5 tool combo (which received 4.6 stars from 160 reviews) is normally priced at $499, had a $100 price drop on Saturday, taking it to $399. The package number is R9652.

When I went to the store to pick it up, there was a huge sign on the end cap display that said - purchase the R9652 5 piece set [], you get 3 additional bare tools for free.

On HD's website, it looks like that package number is R9652-R9618SB.

Online, the R9652-R9618SB looks like it's listed at $499, but I can confirm that I recieved all 8 tools, 2 batteries, and a charger for $399. []

It didn't ring up as the package, but since it was a huge advertisement they knocked off ~$110 for the additional 3 tools.

It's exactly the same package that is onsale for $399 and the bare tools are just add-on's. They are not in a single SKU/box, which is why I assume it didn't ring the additional items in for free.

All told, about a $210 savings. I bought a $500 HD giftcard from Giant Eagle to get some free gas out of it as well. Gift cards through GE have double fuel points as a mothers day promotion, which turns out to be 20 cents off for every $50 increment of gift cards purchased. Great price. Register them online for their lifetime warranty/service.

I went to the store to buy this package and the end cap display had a huge sign that offered 3 additonal bare tools with the purchase of the combo, all for only $399. I made a post of this today (below).

The bare tools include an orbital sander, radio, and a really cool work light. ($110 value)

I mentioned it in the other Ridgid gen5x thread that brought up the price drop from $499 to $399. But no biggie

Thanks OP, I actually ended up buying the gen x4 5 piece kit on sale for 279 online. I already have the x4 drill, 1/4in and 1/2in impact gun so I'm going to sell my old drill and 1/4in impact gun and keep this set. I bought a discounted gift card on Raise to save 4.5%, and I used my Citi DoubleCash card for 2% cash back on the gift card. Not much, but negated the tax, and free shipping. After I sell my drill and driver, I'll get a brand new 5 piece set for like $175-200. I almost bought this kit for $299 last week so I'm happy

Ridgid's Lifetime Service Agreement is a huge perk to buying Ridgid tools... Basically free replacements with minimal hassles, including batteries, which are usually the first thing to die on cordless tools.
Also, I have the x4 version of Ridgid's high-end hammer drill, and I've found it to be very powerful and durable. Highly recommended.
TU from me!

I just bought the gen5x drill and driver combo deal a few weeks ago and have already used both for a few separate jobs. I must say they are everything I need for household projects, and they are far superior to previous editions of the drill and driver. Mine are brushed by the way; the lower torque output is the main difference I'd mention between them and brushless, yet they do not seem to be lacking. I chose ridgid because of the lifetime service agreement, which I've heard is something that you rarely would have to use. My one complaint is with signing up for the LSA for online orders because ridgid seems to have a problem with their online registration. Ive had to print out 2 emails they sent me and send them to ridgid via certified mail which I think makes no sense. I am still waiting to hear back from them so we'll see how that goes.

Free lifetime battery replacement. This is a possible cheap battery pack for some uses. Probably against the terms though.

Calling someone else a noob!

He's just a name caller who got picked on in school and didn't admit he was wrong.

Thanks OP
Narkist was a troll who has been frequently banned and has been banned once again. By my recollection, he's up to at least twnety different accounts that have been pulled by the mods.

Speaking of the mods, they did merge the two deals together, but I think they should have used the 8-tool post as the main one. The 5-tool post isn't as good of a deal and doesn't have a valid link.
