If your mom is a gardener and you dont have a Mother's Day gift idea, you could do much worse than this for a $10 last minute gift. Im sure they arent the greatest money can buy at any price point but every tradesman or woman likes extra tools as long as they arent absolute shite.

I can tell you that a $1 dollar store screwdriver isnt the same as a slightly more expensive one from a hardware store. The quality difference is there in that case. I don't know much about gardening though. If the $1 one works fine, then I'm not the one to buy a $20 oxo manual can opener over a $1 dollar store one. Having said that, two $5 sears tools is a bit nicer gift than 2 $1 dollar store tools is. I am personally all in favor of saving money at the dollar store whenever it's actually a good savings. For me to buy non top end tools they do need to be real cheap for me to consider it a great deal for my personal collection. In the case of the dollar store screwdriver, it won't hold up where it matters, the tip will get screwed up and become useless while also damaging screws. It doesn't matter if the dollar store trowel gets dinged up as long as the handle doesn't come off, etc etc etc

Actually to sywr people it often does because their cost isnt the same. Sears isn't one of the stores I like to go into personally, I'd rather go into walmart than sears, for whatever that's worth. I'd rather go into kmart than sears as well. I bet it has a lot to do with my local sears, and due to that I've never gone into any others. I don't mind buying from them online if the deal is right but I don't recall doing so any time recently and I never got into their rewards.

I own the weeder and I absolutely love it. Great gift for any gardener for removing weeds by the root with ease.

I have one of those and was surprised when it worked a lot better than my cheapo straight hand weeder. In for another!
