this is a good price, but you need promo code mailed from FRYS

I think Fry's website is having issues. You can't enter today's code for any item. Call them up or keep trying. This is an excellent price.

As always. Frys drops the ball. Horrible company.

-- called them. Promo is down. Can't order anything over the phone.

For those competing, I believe this one was 1st Smilie

The 2 threads will get consolodated and I believe this will probably be a FP.

Features are just below the 'mid-grade' receiver I was hoping to score but at this price and with Frys local return options, worth giving it a shot for me.
For many, if the X2200w deal shows up again for $100 less, might be a better option but note that it's no longer on Denons website.

Good catch OP and if anyone has a promo code they're not using, please pm - I'm still waiting for my Frys e-mail but they haven't been showing up latelyRoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Email ad also states this is in store only. May not be able to use promo code online. Not sure how strict Fry's is with that though.

Mine says ONLINE. The only IN-STORE restriction is the sales tax. It says they will pay the sales tax on the item IN-STORE ONLY.

--But none of this matters as their site is broken

So, I picked up the Onkyo TX-RZ800 for $700 a few weeks ago from Crutchfield thinking that was the best pre out deal I was going to see. I mostly care about pre outputs, and that it's future proof (HDMI2.0a, HDCP 2.2, 60Hz 4K and 120Hz 1080p, Atmos, all the good audio formats, converts component and composite to HDMI). I thought I signed up for emails from fry's a few weeks ago but haven't received any (not in junk mail either)

Questions:
1) Are there any reasons this Denon is better? (upconversion better than Vizio, etc?)
2) How much hassle is it to return to Crutchfield (shipping cost?) and try to figure out how to get this email deal?

No expert here, but I'd love to have the rz800 or 900 primarily for the power amp.
My brother has the 900 and loves it but I need(want) video upscaling and like the option of 'autoEQing' 2 subs. For $200+tx less, I'd say this is worth considering if you're not utilizing the 800s power section.
