These speakers have a flimsy 3.5mm aux cable built in. I have some spare 3.5mm aux cables and use those instead of the built in cable. Works like a charm! In other words, the little 3.5mm port on the side is made for input and output!

why would you use a Jack if it's Bluetooth?

I have been using the non bluetooth one that was on deal last year and have had no problems with the wire yet.
It was used a LOT last summer and I was just careful with the cord without a problem still use it for travel, bought two of this deal for gifts.
