The actual listing says "Windows" and the first picture is the Windows variant. I didn't see an option to choose the Android variant, only the color. Kind of misleading it seems.

Honestly I have bought multiple items seller refurbished, if the price discrepancy is worth it. I always make sure they have high feedback and a 14-30 day return policy. When I get the item I stress test it, try every option and if it passes all that I keep it. After that point you have the same odds of a brand new or even a manufacture refurbished item failing for you.

You might could find a 2nd gen Moto G for around that price. It's a great phone for the price. Or you may consider a 1st Gen Moto X (I'm pretty sure it will be around $50 by now). For a lesser known brand, Blu makes some great budget phones. Also, you may want to check some of the 2013 flagships; I still have my HTC M7 as a backup and it runs fine. Maybe you could find a great deal on that or a galaxy S4.

I think most, if not all, of the Blu phones are GSM

I bought and used an HTC Desire (612 I think) for about six months while waiting for a G3 to come on the market for a reasonable price. I was pleased overall.

About the only things I didn't like were the lack of rooting options and very little tactile differences to give you an idea of its orientation when you pulled it out of a pocket. I ended up putting a small sticker on one of the corners to help.

thanks for all the suggestions. The only qualifier I would add is new and able to return in store if need be.

Prepaid VZW would be fine since I can stick my sim card in..
