Hey guys, just got an email from Motorola:

http://www.motorola.com/us/produc...nMemory-16

$100 off any configuration of Moto X Pure. I have this phone already and I have to say it's pretty awesome. Although it's not as good as this deal here:

But, you can at least customize yours with whatever colors you want with the link now.

The 32GB Jonathan Adler editions are still around for the same $299 price: http://www.motorola.com/us/produc...tion-adler IMHO the extra 16GB is worth it, even if the back designs are a little funky. Can always throw a case over the design.

There's a microSD slot. So you can pop in whatever size card you want and be in business with a phone that isn't going to get you laughed at by everyone you meet.

Most apps can't be installed on sd card. The extra 16G is very important.

I'm fairly positive that's changed with Marshmallow.

You can setup an SD card as adoptable storage but even that has some quirks. I've noticed with Android 6.0 it alone takes up 8GB, so on a 16GB phone even with a SD card you're going to be running pretty low on space for the main operating system (AFAIK the OS can't ever move off the internal storage, even when you adopted a new SD card). If you're going to keep this phone for more than a couple years and perhaps another major Android version I would consider getting a bigger internal drive.

You can convert your SD card to internal storage on marshmallow so 16gb is fine.

Still seems like it's a better deal to get the goofy-looking Adler version w/ 32GB for $299 and put a case on it to cover up the design.

Just be aware that adoptable storage isn't perfect and has weird issues. Once an SD card is adopted you can't pop it out and replace with another SD card, it has to stay inside the phone or else you lose everything on it (any apps etc moved over to it). It's encrypted too so if you get a new phone all of that data will be completely lost on the SD card (unless you back it up using some apps etc). You can't read files from a computer too--like if you put photos on an adopted SD card you have to use an app or cloud service to move the photos off the phone, you can't just pop it out and into your computer to read.

In addition you have to use a UHS-1 card for adopted storage. It will actually do a speed test and prevent or warn you from using a slow card. Just something to keep in mind, you can't throw a bargain basement SD card in there. Get a quality drive like a Sandisk Ultra, etc.
