Deep Blue is a NY based micro brand. The benefit of these is usually better customer support and attention to detail (lugs can easily support multiple after market straps, custom dial details, and more)

Funny. I had to google it and I am still not sure what 1500M resistance mean.

They're based out of NY. They used to be a pretty good micro brand. Since Stan, the owner/CEO, decided to branch off into aviation style watches (Air Blue) the quality has certainly suffered. I enjoyed their earlier watches. Haven't bought any of their newer styles. They're still ok just not what they used to be. Thank you op for posting. Just wanted to be honest.

pretty watch - but kinda rich for a brand I've never heard of - but micro brand sounds interesting. seems to be getting decent reviews: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/o...22945.html

Where you getting this info, couldn't find any good info on Wikipedia.
I like the watch, don't care that much for a designer/brand name. Just don't want to waste money on a crapy watch...

Edit: the name "deep blue" reminds me of Britney spears... No clue why though!?!?!

It's a micro brand I first saw on evine.com. A few friends pointed me toward them. You can also find used ones on watchuseek.com. All of their older watches had sapphire crystals and some of the newer ones are getting away from them. Here's their official website if you want some more info on their watches. Hope it helps! ?

I'd say this is probably a good deal -- decent auto movement, AR sapphire crystal, excellent water resistance rating. The style is even pretty nice. But did anyone notice the weight on this thing?? That water resistance comes at a price -- it's almost 9oz (250g). I suppose I could buy one for each wrist and cancel my gym membership though.

probably referring to her history of deep, spiraling depression.

Deep blue is an excellent brand. I fit my collection with a few watches that focus on quality, features, etc. Deep blue makes great diving watches and at a better price. You get top quality and many features that most crap watches u can find at macys for the same price will never have (sapphire crystal, great lume, water resistance, screw down crown so you can legittly dive/swim with it, etc).

For $300 its a great price. I always suggest for under $500 category as well: seiko monster 2 (srp), seiko sumo, victorinox DM500, orient Beast mforce, deep blue watches and for dress up if u can get a good sale like i did, citizen satellite wave f150.

Or you can buy a decent used watch that would actually be a good watch. Something like a 70s diver, if that's what you're into, 60th chronograph, 50-60th dress watch, etc. For the same money. And, since when Miyota became a good movement?

Does anyone actually swim with their watches? And if so, why?
