i'd like to buy a new dell laptop

hi folks! i would like to purchase a new laptop. my preference is a dell Windows 10 machine. my previous laptop just gave-out on me after 10 years of reliable use. what i had was an Inspiron E1505, and i'd like to get essentially the same machine except for 2016.

my needs are very basic: i don't really need Microsoft Office and i don't play video-games. i have a tablet that i use for video-chat and travel, but the tablet-screen is too small for my liking and i don't like typing on it (hence a new laptop!). i have no fixed-budget on this machine (valuing the quality/longevity more than a cheap price for cheap-parts).

since i tend to keep my belongings until they fall-apart, i would like a machine where i can replace a worn-out battery (i've read some models of laptops the user can no longer easily replace them).

any suggestions on a suitable model would be appreciated (and if there are any deals associated with the suggested-machine, all the better!).

cheers!

I actually posted right above you! I'm looking at three laptops right now, two of which would be very suited to you!

I've got the same model with and without touch screen, I think you would be much more interested in the touch screen since you're trying to transition from a tablet. Of course there is the non-touch option as well. Both have 6th gen i5's, 8 GB RAM, and a 1 TB HDD!

This link will take you too a page where you have to actually choose the i5 and touch/non-touch features.

Dell makes quality laptops all around, if you get a higher priced dell laptop, more than likely what you'll be paying for is a 256 GB SSD or dedicated graphics card, might as well buy the SSD yourself! It'll be much cheaper.

Hope I helped, let me know if you have anymore questions!

I wouldn't limit yourself to a "dell" . Any 400-500 range laptop on SD will be good for you.
