Sorry if I mess this up, I don't usually post deals.

I am a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson, so while browsing his site, I noticed that his novella, Perfect State was nominated for a Hugo award. In celebration of the nomination, the price was cut to $0.99 and you can get the Audible narration for an extra $1.99.

Don't have Amazon Prime? Students can get a free 6-Month Amazon Prime trial [amazon.com] with free 2-day shipping, unlimited music, unlimited video streaming & more.

If you're not a student, there's also a free 1-Month Amazon Prime trial [amazon.com] available.

Users can also sign up for a free 30-day Audible trial [amazon.com] and get one free audiobook of their choosing.

This news is essentially from Brandon (his social media accounts/blog). Thought I'd include his blog post about it: http://brandonsanderson.com/perfe...c-updates/

Thanks, updated. It wouldn't let me see the price, but the 'preview' price showed $1.99 so I wasn't sure. Still, $2.99 total isn't bad, even if you never read the kindle version. Cheaper than that 50% off sale they had recently.

When was it Hugo nominated? Because the last couple years, the Hugo has literally been a joke.

Sadly, Hugo nominated Space Raptor Butt Invasion [amazon.com] has NOT been similarly discounted.

It just got Hugo nominated this year. Brandon addressed the Sad Puppies and the other group. In the past he's asked his books be excluded from Hugo nominations/awards due to controversies, but this year, since apparently they're implementing new rules, he allowed his books to be nominated.

Ill just say that while I haven't read this one yet, I've read every book in his Cosmere series and they're some of my favorite books ever, so I trust this one will be excellent as well.

Good read. Alot of authors have written about this, Sanderson's seems the only one to take a fair, objective view.

I think it would be classified as a novella, possibly a novelette, but it's too long to be classified as a short story, which are typically agreed to be 7,500 words or less. At 71 pages, it would be somewhere between 14,200 and 21,300 words, which puts it in the range between a novellette and a novella, depending who is defining it.

I bought this book when it came out. It's pretty short but DEFINITELY worth more than 99 cents. Great deal. Definitely a story that left me wanting more. Getting this is a no-brainer.

I think he's arguably the best fantasy writer of the last 10 years. Sorry GRRM.
