This is a horrible idea for hardware. Looks like an app company with their heads in the "cloud"

huh?

the hardware looks great. it seems like the software has some bugs though.

I'm tempted to try it. It does have all the needed bands.

Recent update to 6.0.1 has supposedly resolved most issues: http://www.droid-life.com/2016/04...oid-6-0-1/

Yes it does, including T-mobile band 12, and recent update was supposed [nextbit.com]to enable VoLTE, but haven't seen confirmation.

Why do we need this? It looks like they are selling an off the shelf parts phone with a fancy launcher and a bunch of crap running along with android.

If amazon couldn't do it with the Fire phone... these guys wont stand a chance.

CM11 installs and $150 Woot deals are in its future.

Why so expensive? :/
Maybe at $199, but no way at this price.
Who is Nextbit anyway?

Nextbit has put a lot of work into this device with its cloud-based software solution. I don't have one but you have to salute a maker which comes up with something innovative.
