This is most likely titanium in color or coating not in the real structural metal. Real Ti would cost way more and is generally not used for tripods. Carbon fiber, Aluminum, and Steel are the 3 materials.

Hmm can't tell from the photos/reviews/description but can this be used for macro shots? As in, can you tilt the center arm so it's completely horizontal to the ground? Doesn't seem like it but I hope I'm wrong.

it is their titanium color and that is quite deceiving in my opinion...

nope, it's a regular adjustable center column and ball head

I have this tripod and it's indeed very small. very compact though. I can fit this in a timbuk 2 messenger bag upright.
