got in before the " you can do this on a phone crowd"
yes everyone knows you can run nav and traffic on smartphones.
however personal preference ( which is usually ignored in these posts) plays a factor as well.
I use these and give them as gifts. We find them to work better, easier, and more reliably than using a smartphone. The smartphones have varying degree of GPS sensitivity and kill the battery/data/overheat. If you have some super phone that doesn't do that congratulations you are very special. We like to travel more than 20 miles away from urban centers which is also another reason these have value. Good post and good value. Let the phone zombie posts commence

This does real time traffic? I usually use Waze for my commute and Google maps for any trips but I hate using my smartphone all the time. especially since it will freeze up once in a blue moon.

I found I use voice control at most time when I use 2597, no sure if I will use the multipoint at the most of time

i think GARMIN is SIGNED UP a CONTRACT with all GAS-FUEL company lol. Every time I used it, I always showed me a longer routes lol. Anyway HERE map are free and you can use it offline on your phone. just saying...
